Beer Bread Recipe

Beer bread with butter and honey

3 C  Self Rising Flour

3 Tbsp. Sugar

1 12oz. can/bottle of beer (the cheaper the better – all alcohol bakes off)

1 stick of butter (melted)

Pour melted butter in bottom of bread pan. (Use a stone when ever you have one.  They bake everything so beautifully!)  Spread some of melted butter up the sides of the pan.

Mix self-rising flour, sugar and beer together.  Will be thick.  Press dough into pan.  Allow butter to cover the dough.  If you score the dough where you desire it to separate, it will allow for the baked bread to just be pulled apart – not cutting needed.)

Bake for 30-40 minutes at 375* until golden brown.  (All alcohol will cook off while baking, so it is safe for children and pregnant woman.  For the longest time I refused to buy beer, but then I realized that vanilla has more alcohol than beer and I cook with vanilla all the time.)

This bread makes great sandwiches and french toast.  It goes great with spaghetti!  Herbs, garlic or cinnamon may be mixed into the dough for a great customized flavor.
