Spiders are not insects, but arachnids. They have two body sections and eight legs. Spiders also have 6 – 8 eyes. Spiders are very useful because they eat insects and pests. Spiders produce silk through spinning glands called spinnerets. All spiders make some venom, but only a few produce enough to harm humans.
Spiders are near-sighted. They use the hair on their body to sense predators.
Spiders never waste a torn, dirty web because they roll it into a ball and eat it!
