Things We Say (Part 2)

Okay, so there are some sayings that mean something or bring humor to a given situation. But what of those sayings that don’t make any sense?

The other day I walked in on a conversation at the grocery store. The dutiful yet unenthusiastic cashier began scanning my products while asking a fellow equally indifferent employee passing by, “Did you ever find your keys?”

The walking employee exasperatedly informed, “They were on the table in the break room.”

That wasn’t the portion of the conversation that caught my attention. It was what he said next.

“They are always in the last place I look.”

Okay.

Really?

Of course they are. What kind of an idiot keeps looking for something after they find them. Isn’t every thing that is found in the “last” place you look?
